20130626_120741On Wednesday, June 26th, Mr. Forde displayed his culinary skills when he cooked up a storm on a spit!   The salmon was stretched out on a stick and roasted over the heat of the bonfire in the school field.  It was a wonderful spectacle for all in the school and reports confirm it was very tasty!

On Tuesday, June 25th, past pupil, Eleanor Custy came into talk to the Sixth Class students about her recent trip to Calcutta.  It was very interesting to hear about her experience and about everyday life in Calcutta.  View the children’s report on the talk here.

IMG_5283On Wednesday, June 19th, the school Sport’s Day took place.  The children participated in running races and several novelty events.  The sun shone and a great day was had by all! View photos here.

image-05On Thursday, June 2oth, Sixth Class pupils together with teachers and parents conquered Croagh Patrick!  The Sponsored climb of the reek raised much needed funds for IT equipment in the school.  Well done to all involved!  View Photos here.

Last week the school was alive with the sound of music and drama as First Class and Third Class performed their plays!  Well done to the teachers and pupils for the huge effort they put into these productions and a big thank you to all the children and parents who helped out with making the sets and behind the scenes!  View pictures of the First Class play ‘Peace Child’ and the Third Class play ‘Strictly Fairytale Come Dancing‘ in our Events page.

Junior and Senior Infants made the most of the fine weather on Tuesday June 18th when they went on a teddy bear’s picnic!  The children and the teddy bears had a great time!

View photos of our school tours in our events page.  Junior Infants enjoyed a day at the Eco farm in Clarecastle.  Senior Infants went to Moher Hill farm in Liscannor. First class went to Lahinch and the Burren.  Second Class enjoyed a trip to Cragganowen and Bunratty Castle.  Third Class also visited the Burren.  Fourth Class were busy at Flaggy Shore in New Quay.  Fifth class enjoyed a day at    Pure Skill in Galway.  Sixth Class spent the night on Inis Óirr.
