On Tue May 17th we played Barefield NS in a school’s golf classic. The first match between Matthew Power / Brian Corry v Joe Daly /Killian Warner was halved. The second match between Senan Crosbie/ Cian Moloney v Kate Monwell / John Connaughton went Knockanean’s way 2 & 1. In the third match Charlie Mc Guinness/ Morgan Lahiffe v James Curran/ Cian Lahiffe went Barefield’s way – 1 up. So it all came down to the last match between Gary Lane/ Rhys Mc Govern Wolfe v Samuel Costello/ Siofra Fitzpatrick. This was very close early on but Knockanean eventually won 4 & 3.Afterwards we went for food in the clubhouse. We had a most enjoyable day. Knockanean are the first name on this cup which will hopefully be an annual event. A famous golf star turned up on the day dressed all in orange !! We think he was Ricky Fowler!!!
