Music Club

Music has always had a central place in the fabric of Knockanean National School. The music club has been a weekly fixture for as long as we can remember and that tradition continues today. Every Tuesday evening after school the Music Club meet for an hour to play a variety of music from traditional, classical, and pop genres. We also have a choir that meet every Wednesday after school for an hour. Our musicians and choir play and sing for the sacraments, and school gatherings and last year played a lunchtime gig during the Fleadh Nua in Ennis. We had also been preparing work for a Musical Gathering with several Ennis Schools. The schools played in Carron, in the Burren, in May but unfortunately, the date clashed with our Confirmation.

This school year (2023/204) has also been busy so far. In November, we had the privilege of having singer and songwriter, Susan O Neill visit us, for three workshops. Together we wrote a Christmas song called ‘Thinking of You’.
