Walton’s Music for Schools 2014 Winners!!
On the 12th of May 2014, all of 5th and some of 6th class got the chance to go up to Dublin, to perform our brilliant piece ‘Trip to Fantasy On Board the Sally Gardens’. We were first to perform our piece in the National Concert Hall. We were up against some stiff competition during the hours of the finals. When everybody finished their performance, the judges Bill Whelan and Julie Feeney took a long time to decide the winners. But when they did, she summed it up in three words “UP THE BANNER!” We knew then we were the winners!!! We received a trophy and a cheque for €3000 to be spent in Walton’s Music shop. We’d like to thank Mrs Mac for all her belief in us and all the work she put into making our performance perfect. It was a day we won’t forget in a hurry!!!
