All parents/guardians of children attending Knockanean National School are members of the parent association, with a number of parents elected to the committee.
The Parents Association provide a structure through which the parents/guardians, of children attending Knockanean can work together with school representatives. Working with the Principal, Staff and Board of Management to build effective partnerships between home and school.
The Knockanean Parents Association meet in the school a few times over the school year to organise events and discuss how we can assist school improvements. All parents are very welcome to attend any of these meetings.

We have a number of events that we run annually which are a big part of the school year:
The Halloween Party: This fancy dress disco party takes place in The West County Hotel on the Thursday 24th October 2019.
School Calendar: The school calendar is sold each November for the following year. The calendar contains photos of various activities at the school for the previous 12 months. It is a fantastic keepsake and the money raised goes toward fundraising for the school and donations to our chosen charities.
First Communion Day Reception: After the First Communion Mass, the parents group hosts a tea & coffee reception at the school for all First Communion children, their families and friends. It gives the children a chance to spend some times with their classmates on this very important day.
