Credit Union Quiz 2025!

On Friday the 7th of February a junior quiz team and a senior quiz team from the school travelled to the Inn at Dromoland for the Credit Union Schools Quiz competition. The senior team was made up of Abi, Aoife, Eve and James. The junior team was made up of Ciara, Katelyn, Oisín, and Adam. We arrived at around half five and found our tables for our teams. Colm came with us on the night and our families came along too to support us. They gave us mentos before the quiz began to get our brains going! There were twelve rounds in the quiz in total, and six questions per round. The questions were about a lot of topics, some about sport and a lot of general knowledge ones also. We noticed that the questions became more challenging as the rounds went on!

At the halfway point, they showed us the scores, the senior team from our school was in first place and the junior team from our school was in second place! We knew at this point that we had a great shot. Then the next stage got underway and at the end of the quiz we found out that our senior team placed 6^th overall and our junior team placed 4^th overall. Clare hurler Tony Kelly presented the awards to the winning teams on the night. We were very proud of our performances and it was a great opportunity to practice our quizzing skills.

Munster Credit Union Quiz 2023

On 2/3/2023, the quiz team met at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Limerick at 6:00pm. There were schools from Clare, Limerick, Tipperary, and Kerry though most of the schools were from Limerick. There were 10 rounds for the junior teams and 12 for the senior teams with 6 questions each. They told us the score every 4 rounds. In the 4th round, when they told us the score, we were second last so we thought we lost. In the 8th round, we were tied for second! And after we waited for the senior rounds to finish, we heard that we got 41 points which was the highest score by one. Ennis National School came first in the senior rounds. Some of the questions were really hard but some were easy and some we knew by luck! Now we are going to the RDS in Dublin on April 2nd for the All-Ireland Credit Union Quiz final

Credit Union Quiz 2023

On Jan 27th the St Francis Credit Union quiz was on in the West Country Hotel in Ennis. There were two different categories- under 11 and under 13. There were 11 schools in the under-11 category and 16 in the under-13 category. Our under-11 team came 1st and our under-13 team came 4th. To win, u11 team had to go to a tiebreak which we won by a single question. We now go in the regional final in Limerick on March 3rd.

Under 11 team members: Aidan Hogan, Dawid Andrajolc, Aoife Kirrane, Daire Cullinan. Under 13 team members: Jonah Quinn, Tiernan Garvey, Cillian Sullivan, Sophie O’Connor.
