FAI Soccer Blitz 2023

On 2/3/2023 we left the school at 9.40am and buses brought us to Gurteen. When we got there, 2 teachers took the boys and two teachers took the girls. Everybody had at least 5-8 people on their team. First, everybody played 3 games. We played one match and then had our small break. After that, we played another 2 games and had our big lunch. It was 5 aside and hard to pick subs because everyone wanted to play. The boy’s match had to go to penalties and was very competitive.

FAI Spar Soccer 2022

On Mon April 4th classes from 3rd to 6th went to Gurteen for a blitz. Colm made up teams of 5 or 6 mixed between all the classes from 3rd to 6th. There were girl’s teams and boy’s teams. The teams were divided into groups and each team played the other once in the group stages. The four teams that had the most points got through to the semi-final and then the winners played the final. Denis Hynes from the FAI was there for the full day. O’ Keeffes kindly sponsored refreshments such as water, crisps, bananas and biscuits and importantly the teachers got coffee! Overall we had a really great day.
